Crazy Weekend

It's been a crazy weekend here in Scotland. As you will be aware, Glasgow was targeted by 2 crazy terrorist bombers on saturday. My dad came through the airport at lunchtime that day, those idiots drove their bomb ridden car towards the terminal at 3pm. I will never understand why these people are so determined to kill so many innocent people. It was the start of the school holidays up here so it could have been disastrous. Fortunately there were no casualties on saturday, apart from the two bombers, but you can't help but wonder how long it's going to be before it happens again. We would never have expected Scotland to become a target and especially so close to home. The media are alleging it could be because our new prime minister is Scottish but who knows. It's a crazy world, crazy and scary.

On a much lighter note, i've finished gridding the basic outline of my RR and started stitching my square which is LHN's Daisy Lane Cottage.

Ive had very few weekends here at home recently so haven't posted any West of Scotland Weekend pictures for ages. Here's the view of the river Clyde out of our front window the other night

I saw on the news about the bombing, how terribly scary. I don't understand what they want to accomplish either, I wish everyone could just figure out how to get along.

Your RR looks like it got a good start, and Daisy Lane Cottage is so cute. Looking forward to watching how the RR's all progress,
Sue

Your RR is starting off nicely. I bet you're glad you're done with griding. :P

Having a terrorist attack in Scotland was horrible, the last thing you expect to happen. It's great that no one was hurt.

I agree, the world is a very scary place at times.

Your RR is off to a great start ;)

I've been following the news and heard of the bombings. I was surprised as well that Scotland was a target. I guess none of us is immune anymore. My family live on the Canadian- U.S. border at one of the largest crossings. I keep my fingers crossed that nothing happens there.
On a lighter note your RR looks great! I'm looking forward to seeing its progress.

I'm so glad your Dad wasn't hurt or any others. People do stupid things, I worry about what it will be like for my boys when they are adults. Your block's looking good!

It was shocking news about the failed bombing in Glasgow. We were in Cyprus last year when the news broke about the failed plans to blow up airliners. It's always awful to hear about these things, but when you realise it can affect you personally it fills you with a whole different sort of horror. Stay safe! xx

OMG, with your dad coming through right then, I can't imagine how you must've been feeling. I am so relieved that everyone is okay - except the bombers, who sort of gave up their right to being okay when they embarked on this attempted massacre. The world is just too messed up.

You have been very busy with your stitching!
it was so shocking about the events at Glasgow airport, I too would not have expected it to happen there. They are out to get us as British people so I suppose it is not that surprising in view of that :(
Hope you have a great week!

Your RR start looks great! I'm still waiting for my fabric to arrive, I think it's been delayed by the postal strike :(

The attack on Glasgow airport was a real shock, and on Sunday the police were searching a house in Houston where I have relatives. Scary times!
